With the turn of the calendar, Memorial Day Weekend marks the unofficial start to summer and here at The Shawnee Inn summer means, among many other things Shawnee Markets!
On Tuesday evenings on the grand lawn of the resort from June till September local vendors come to sell fruits, vegetables, breads, baked goods, jams and jellies, syrups, and cheeses, just to name a few as well as artisan crafts, lotions, cosmetics, handmade pottery and much more. The Shawnee Market follows The Shawnee Inn’s sustainable and environmental friendly approach to being part of the community.
The Shawnee Market is open to the public as well as guests staying at the inn and is a great place to grab dinner at the Shawnee Grill which serves locally sourced entrees prepared by Chef Tallada of The Shawnee Inn starting at 5:30pm. After dinner gather your weekly produce and special amenities you can’t find elsewhere before sitting down on a lawn chair or blanket with your loved ones. Live music which starts at 7pm is the perfect back drop to peruse the tents or to finish your dish of organic ice cream as the sun dips a bit lower out over the river behind you.
