Monday, February 11, 2013 (East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania) – Great Bear Golf Club, formerly known as Great Bear Golf and Country Club, has named Dave Korba as its new Club Manager. Korba brings 25 years of business leadership and golf expertise to Great Bear Golf Club, which is now under new local ownership.
Korba has worked as Administrative Director and Director of Internet Marketing at Shawnee Development Incorporated and Marketing Manager at Wyndham Vacation Resorts. During his time locally with Shawnee Development and Wyndham Vacation Resorts, Korba worked directly with Rob Howell, General Manager at Great Bear Golf Club, on various cross company-marketing initiatives. “Dave will be a great asset in this leadership position. He will play a key role in assisting us in our mission to restore the area’s only Nicklaus Signature Course to the esteem that its namesake warrants,” said Howell, who also holds the position of General Manager at the nearby, historic Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort. Korba’s responsibilities will include the overall supervision and administration of the clubhouse, ensuring a robust schedule of social and golf-related activities. He will also oversee Club member and community relations.
Dave Korba holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Wilkes University, where he was a two sport athlete in baseball and football. He earned a MBA in Marketing from Penn State University. Great Bear Golf Club is scheduled for a much anticipated grand re-opening in the spring of 2013.
