We created a monitored learning environment that will give you a break and empower your child to complete their virtual learning assignments in a safe, clean, and unique environment.

Shawnee’s Monitored Learning Environment is included at no extra cost with every overnight stay September 8 through May 28, 2021.

The first day monitored learning (schoolcation) will be offered at Shawnee is Tuesday, September 8, 2020.

Monitored learning / schoolcation will be servicing students from 1st Grade through 8th Grade. 

The last day of monitored learning will be offered at Shawnee is Friday, May 28, 2021.

Tables will be spaced 6 feet apart and there will be only one student (child) per table.

A maximum of 10 students per day.

Yes.  All participants must wear a mask while in the monitored classroom environment.   Masks may be removed for lunch and snack time.

Yes.  Guests must reserve space 48 hours in advance by calling our reservations office at 800-4742-9633. Monitored learning room will not be available without advance reservations.

All parents must provide a consent form and child’s education schedule (if available). The consent form will be available online on the monitored learning page www.ShawneeInn.com/Monitored-Learning/  or can be emailed by contacting our reservations office at 800-742-9633 or info@shawneeinn.com.   Completed forms can be handed in at arrival to the front desk or emailed to marketing@shawneeinn.com. All parents must remain on property and  provide contact information for our classroom attendant.

No.  Students will be expected to stay in the monitored learning classroom until picked up by their parents.

Besides beginning at 8:30am and ending at 3:30pm, daily activities, snack, and lunch breaks will be based upon each student’s (child’s) individual class schedule. Indoor activities (Arts & Crafts, Leaf art, Stretching and meditation, journaling) Outdoor activities (hiking, nature walks, lawn games, camp fires) will occur when every student is finished with their school schedule for the day.

Students can bring their own lunch or pre-order from a menu filled out with the classroom attendant in the morning and submitted  to the kitchen and then delivered at the students scheduled lunch time.  Cost of lunch will be charged to the guest room and will need to be approved by the parent at the time of ordering.

No snacks or beverages will be provided.  Students will be allowed to bring their own snacks and beverages as long as they are not a disruption to other students.
