The River has Thawed

The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort has the distinct pleasure of being located in paradise. Surrounded on three sides by the 70,000 acre Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, the Wild and Scenic Delaware River, and the Appalachian Trail. Just across the pristine and gentle flowing Delaware River is the neighboring Worthington State Forest, coined after Shawnee’s founder, C.C. Worthington. We are so very proud of our setting.
It is an especially exciting time of year when Jack Frost retires, the weather finally breaks, and we can officially announce the opening of Shawnee River Trips. If you’re longing for an existential retreat back to nature, just a short interlude, take a river trip. Shawnee’s serene crystal clear waters reveal a virgin riverbed and the native wildlife that call the basin home. Paddling our river gives the illusion of flight – as though there is nothing between your vessel and the ground. The experience is unique and special; and there really isn’t anything quite like it anywhere else in the world.
Starting in May Shawnee River Trips is open to serve anyone seeking to recreate on our Delaware River. This season we are offering some very special paddling opportunities.
The first of which is a series of Full Moon Paddles. Our highly skilled River Trips staff guides you as you navigate north through the moonlit Delaware River. The trip leads to a private island with s’mores waiting to be toasted on a prepared campfire.
The second opportunity is Shawnee’s Canoe and Brew. Float south to the ShawneeCraft Brewing Company where you will receive a tour of the facilities and a flight of ShawneeCraft beers. You’ll learn about the brewery’s connection to nature and the Delaware River and have the opportunity to taste hand-brewed ShawneeCraft beer.
