If you love great live theater (and laughs), you won’t want to miss the Shawnee Playhouse’s latest production: The Little Shop of Horrors. Now running through March 9, this classic theatrical comedy tells the tale of Seymour, a love-lorn floral assistant, who stumbles upon an exotic plant with a mysterious craving for flesh and blood. The curtain rises on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 2 pm. Whenever you see the show, you’ll also discover the charm of this historic playhouse originally built in 1904 and beautifully restored after a 1985 fire. The Shawnee Playhouse has long been the Poconos’ premier performance space for live theater, drawing locals and Shawnee Inn hotel guests for high-quality productions showcasing the area’s top talent. The Shawnee Playhouse operates year-round with back-to-back theatrical events ranging from The Crucible (up next) to Barefoot in the Park.
