Shawnee on Delaware, PA — November 4, 2025 —The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort would like to clarify recent discussions in the community regarding nearby properties in Shawnee Village.
While the adjacent timeshare development, which has been managed by Wyndham/Travel + Leisure Co., has been listed for sale.
The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort is not for sale, not closing, and remains proudly owned and operated by the Kirkwood Family.
The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort, founded in 1911, continues its long-standing tradition of hospitality as one of the Pocono Mountains’ most historic and beloved destinations.
The resort remains independent and family-owned, committed to its mission of preserving its heritage while planning for an even stronger future. “We understand there has been some confusion due to the sale listing of the nearby timeshare development,” said Jon Kirkwood, family representative of The historic Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort.
“We want to assure our guests, staff, and community that The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort is not for sale. Our family and team remain deeply committed to this property, our employees, and the generations of guests who have made Shawnee part of their lives.”
As the resort looks to the future, plans are underway to enhance the guest experience, expand recreational programming, and continue investing in the property’s historic facilities and natural surroundings.
For more than a century, The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort has stood as a symbol of tradition, community, and hospitality along the Delaware River.
