This ceremony will take place on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at 2:00 PM.The dedication of the Permanent Golf Bridge is a milestone for our resort, representing a major investment in the future of Shawnee by The Kirkwood Family.
The completion of this project underscores their steadfast commitment to innovation, accessibility, and environmental stewardship.
Located 75 miles from New York City and 100 miles from Philadelphia, The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort has long been revered as an iconic golf destination. The construction of the Permanent Bridge, which began in 2022, represents a significant leap forward in enhancing our guest experiences and solidifying the resort’s standing as a premier golf destination.

The previous seasonal bridge, resting on the riverbed, faced challenges during high water events, impacting its stability. The new Permanent Golf Bridge, spanning from the mainland to Shawnee Island, ensures a stable connection without disrupting the natural flow of the Delaware River.
The Permanent Golf Bridge eliminates the need for the yearly ritual of bridge installation, allowing the resort to allocate more resources to enhancing course conditions and developing new projects that will elevate the overall guest experience.
