Summer Festival Fun At Shawnee Mountain

How awesome is August? It’s warm; the kids are on holiday for the summer… But what is there to do?!?

Shawnee Mountain answers that question with three festivals/events that appeal to the interests of families everywhere.

On August 10th the Pocono Chicken Wing-Off is taking place from Noon to 4 PM. Benefiting Monroe County Meals on Wheels, the Pocono Chicken Wing Off is the Pocono Mountain Region’s largest wing event. Sample 40+ varieties of wing sauces while supporting Monroe County Meals on Wheels. Hot wings, spicy wings, specialty wings, smoked wings, fried wings – whatever you choose, you will be eating wings for a great cause.

On August 16th, burn off those calories from the Wing Off by participating in the Shawnee Mountain Mud Run. The Shawnee Mountain Mud Run is a 5k mountain trail run with natural and man-made obstacles, challenging ups and downs, rocky, wooded and wet terrain, shallow water crossings and lots of mountain mud. The run also features a Mini Kidz Run for ages 6-12 years of age.

On the weekend of August 30th & 31st Garlic Enthusiast Unite at the Pocono Garlic Festival. Celebrating 20 years of Pocono Garlic. The Pocono Garlic Festival will once again fill the Poconos with the aroma of garlicky goodness over Labor Day weekend. Over 60 food and craft vendors will be offering everything from garlic vinegar and garlic ice cream to garlic-themed pottery and paintings. A showcase of local musical talent on 2 stages; including the Pocono Bluegrass & Folk Society stage, educational demonstrations, 3rd Annual Garlic Eating Contest and plenty of children’s activities make this a great family event!
