British Music Scholars Perform Concert at the Shawnee Playhouse

Tuesday, October 15, 2013 (Shawnee on Delaware, Pennsylvania) – On Tuesday, October 22, 2013, The Shawnee Playhouse will be hosting a “One Night Only” complimentary concert featuring music scholars from England’s Marlborough College.

Fifteen leading Music Scholars, ages 15 to 18, from Marlborough College in England are traveling to the United States to give two solo and chamber music recitals. The first of which will be at the Shawnee Playhouse and this will be followed by a concert at the Kosciuszko Foundation in New York City.

Conductor Philip Dukes will lead the recital. As a concerto soloist, Philip Dukes appeared on the BBC Philharmonic, London Philharmonic, and the Royal Philharmonic. Philip is also professor of viola at the Royal Academy of Music in London and Artistic Director at Marlborough College.

Seating for the Marlborough College Music Recital is limited to the first 194 audience members.

Marlborough College is a renowned boarding school located in England. Notable alumni include Princess Kate Middleton and her sister Pippa Middleton. Although its name indicates that it is a post-secondary institution, Marlborough College would be considered a high school in the United States.
