The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort hosts a powerful tradition of the Messiah Sing In. So well attended in years past, this event has been relocated from the Shawnee Playhouse to the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort to accommodate the demand. This amazing event starts at 8pm on Thursday, December 22nd. Sing along with friends and neighbors, local soloists, and live orchestra as everyone raises their voices in Handel’s immortal masterpiece.
This festive community concert is a do-not-miss for your holiday schedule. Lead by local conductor and concert master, full orchestra, local soloists, then you, the audience (and chorus) in a magical experience of George Frideric Handel’s Messiah. Each audience member receives a musical score and is invited to sing the chorus numbers with the orchestra. A $10.00 donation is requested at the door for the orchestra and maintenance of the scores. Seating is on a first come, first served basis.
This unforgettable and long standing tradition brings guests from far and wide to lift their voices in song to celebrate this wonderful season that allows friends and family to enjoy togetherness. The location change is very exciting, as the resort can now comfortably accommodate more guests in their Worthington Ballroom.
The holiday season is very important at The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort and this Messiah Sing In is part of long standing Shawnee Traditions that the historic resort hosts year after year. Nativity Scenes from Around the World, Breakfast with Santa, Christmas Buffet, and Holiday Tea are some of the traditions the resort hosts. The Messiah Sing In, however, is one of the most powerful and favorite traditions of the season.
