Are you ready for cupcakes!?! We are gearing up at Shawnee for the biggest Pocono Cupcake Challenge to date. Mark your calendars for Sunday, September 21, 2014. From noon to 3pm The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort’s Grand Lawn will be transformed into A Cupcake Wonderland.
Participation for the Pocono Cupcake Challenge has doubled this year to 65 bakers. Each participant has committed to baking 10 dozen cupcakes! That’s 7,900 cupcakes. The proceeds of each cupcake purchased will be donated to The United Way of Monroe County.
The Pocono Cupcake Challenge isn’t only about buying cupcakes. Shawnee is hosting complimentary and family-friendly activities throughout the event. From old-fashioned lawn games to cupcake decorating and hay rides to cupcake eating contests, we have a wholesome day planned for the whole family.
Chef Tallada will be firing up the Grill and the Perk-Up Truck will be selling gourmet drinks. The ShawneeCraft Brewing Company will be pairing beers with special cupcakes. And the Riverside Rhythm swing band is tuned up and ready to fill the air with energetic melodies.
There is no charge to attend the Pocono Cupcake Challenge. Four cupcake coupons cost $10. The Pocono Cupcake Challenge is taking place on Sunday, September 21, 2014 from noon to 3 pm. Proceeds of the event will benefit The United Way of Monroe County. The 2013 Pocono Cupcake Challenge raised over $10,000 for the United Way.
