Guitar World magazine Senior Music Editor Jimmy Brown is also a professional guitarist-vocalist-entertainer based out of Stroudsburg who performs regularly as a duo with his very talented adult son Nick. Featuring sweet harmony vocals, electric and acoustic guitar sounds, electric bass, foot-operated real drums and lively grooves and inspired jams, the duo are a virtual “two-man band.” Jimmy utilizes a diverse range of acoustic and electric guitar sounds, and both he and Nick have pleasing voices, a polished, professional sound and a fun, attractive presentation. Jimmy and Nick have an impressively diverse repertoire of popular cover songs that they put their own creative stamp on and often use as vehicles for inspired spontaneous improvisation. Featuring lots of classic rock and pop singer-songwriter favorites (song by the Beatles, Eagles, Led Zeppelin, the Allman Bros. Band, Pink Floyd, the Who, James Taylor, Jim Croce, Paul Simon, Tom Petty, Elvis Costello, Steely Dan, Hall & Oates and many others), plus a good helping of Eighties and Nineties artists (the Police, U2, the Foo Fighters and the Red Hot Chili Peppers), some choice contemporary artists (Philip Philips, Ed Sheeran, Passenger, Mumford & Sons, John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, the Lumineers), classic and modern country (everything from Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson to Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan and Chris Stapleton), some blues, reggae, R&B, and even some jazz and Frank Sinatra classics. The Jimmy Brown Duo is ready and happy to please audiences of all ages.
The community concert series is Shawnee’s gift to the community. Concerts are held rain or shine. Donations to the artists are greatly appreciated.
