Community Concert Series: Bill Frye

Bill Frye takes the outdoor stage for the first community concert of the 2022 season.

Please bring your own chair or blanket to enjoy this performance on the grand lawn.

Bill learned to play guitar for his role as Captain Von Trapp in a production of “The Sound of Music”. He found that he could play “by ear” and put chords to innumerable songs that he’d heard all his life. He has a loyal following among children and families and adults 50+ years of age. He performed at the 2000 Republican National Convention in Philadelphia and with Mr. McFeely of Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood. He has written theme songs for the Commonwealth Library System of Pennsylvania children’s summer reading programs and radio advertising jingles.

Community Concerts are Shawnee’s gift to the community. Concerts are held rain or shine. Donations to the artist are greatly appreciated.
