Shawnee holiday traditions kick off during the Thanksgiving week with holiday concerts in our main lobby, a decadent menu prepared for Thanksgiving meal and our annual tree lighting ceremony in front of our historic inn. Gather and see the bright lights reflect in the eyes of all those around. The Shawnee Inn showcases an elaborate display of Crèches from around the World for guests to observe and learn about the religious holiday. Santa will be visiting three Saturdays in December to have breakfast with you and your children and in the afternoon you can take some time to sit by the fire with a cup of tea during our Shawnee Holiday Tea Gathering where we prepare a variety of finger sandwiches, freshly baked breads, scones and Danishes exclusively for you next to the fire while you reminisce on the year that has passed. At the Community Concert on December 21st raise your voices to sing, “Hallelujah” for an informal performance at the Annual Messiah Sing-In, performing one night only at the Shawnee Playhouse. The orchestra and choir performing for one night only at the Shawnee Playhouse performing favorites you’ll be singing along with. Our local soloists, chorus and full live orchestra is a must see magical holiday experience. Save room for our festive buffet menu prepared for the Christmas meal.
