Fall is officially here and Shawnee is drinking up the fall foliage, pumpkin harvest, and Halloween festivities. With the changing weather comes the changing of activities and events around the inn; we hope you’re just as excited as we are.
The ShawneeCraft Taproom has taken advantage of the upcoming holidays and has an event every weekend for the rest of October starting tonight! For the first time they will be hosting a Sugar Skulls and Booobrews event; for just $35 a person, they will receive a ShawneeCraft logo pint glass to paint, one 12oz ShawneeCraft brew of their choice, paint supplies, and guided painting inspirations by our very own local artist, Karra Detrick.
The following Friday, October 20th they will be hosting a 5-course beer pairing dinner in the ShawneeCraft Brewery room, located near the barrel room! Special guest chef Haika Powell masterfully blends all the flavors of the Shawnee Island Farm, local meats, cheeses and the aromas of a brewery and the beer it produces to create this special menu. This special beer pairing dinner features a Pennsylvania Dutch menu using produce grown on the Shawnee Island Farm. Each course is carefully paired with a ShawneeCraft beer that compliments and brings out the complex flavors of both the beer and food.
That Sunday, October 22nd, there will be a Beer Yoga session at 2 pm. Join our event of bringing you two ancient traditions that enlighten your spirits and challenge your balance. The class will be on the Front Lawn of Shawnee Inn followed by beer in Brewery’s Tap Room. Please be sure to bring your own blankets and extra layers for Savasana.
Don’t relax too much, because the following weekend on October 27th the Taproom will be hosting a Halloween Bash! Guest Chef Rodney Tallada will be in-the-house for our Halloween Bash in the Barrel Room. He’ll be stirring up Hibachi with choices of chicken, beef, or veggie served over rice. Pocono Duo concert will be performing live at 7 p.m. This mandatory costume event will have a $5, and menu pricing will vary.
To end our epic October month, prepare for the first Beer Brunch, held on Sunday, October 29th. Gather with friends and family for “Brunch in the Brewery.” Sweet and savory brunch items, live music, and an enjoyable light-hearted atmosphere. ShawneeCraft ales and lagers, KiKi Vodka Bloody Mary’s, and Mimosa’s with local wine will be available to enjoy.
October has never been so good at Shawnee, and it’s a great start to the Holiday Season. We hope to see you here!
