The 4th Annual Pocono Cupcake Challenge will be held on Sunday September 20th from noon to 3pm at The Historic Shawnee Inn. This is a family friendly event for a great cause. The proceeds benefit the United Way of Monroe County to support the non-profit’s mission to improve lives and provide solutions to those facing life’s challenges.
This wholesome day of fun is free to attend and accepts a $10 donation for 4 cupcake tickets. Oh, yes! We are talking about cupcakes here! Participants volunteer to bake 10 dozen cupcakes for this event. Bakers come from all over the region. They make up to 3 varieties of cupcakes, choosing 1 to enter into judgng and the rest are for attendees to devour! Last year the contest was entered by sixty contestants who each baked and donated 10 dozen cupcakes.
Cupcakes are judged on a variety of factors by professional judges. In attendance again this year are winners of the Food Network’s Cupcake Wars and owners of Cake Life Bake Shop, Nima Etemadi and Lily Fischer.
So what’s new this year? There are three separate categories for participants to enter in; professional baker, home baker and junior baker. There are also cash prizes up for grabs!
So come on out for a fun filled family event. There will be live music, food vendors, crafts and activities. You won’t want to miss it!
