Amy and Rick's Wedding
April 19, 2014
How we met...
Amy spotted Rick on match.com. He said he was looking for a girl with 'an enchanting charm' and a 'fearless heart.' He said he wanted a 'Jersey girl', who didn't fit the typical 'Jersey girl' stereotype. He didn't know it at the time, but he was really looking for a California girl!!
When Amy wrote to him, she said that even though she didn't live in New Jersey, she would bike and meet him halfway. A few months after they started dating, Amy really won him over when she journeyed on her bicycle all the way to his house from Queens, NY in the middle of February! And the journey continues....

Our Engagement Story...
Rick surprised Amy for their two year anniversary and drove up to Western Massachusetts to spend a couple days enjoying the beauty of the fall foliage. On the way back, Amy suggested that they stop in Poughkeepsie and walk across the Walkway Over the Hudson, the longest pedestrian bridge in the world. She didn't know that Rick had been planning to stop at that very same place the whole time... !!
As they walked over the bridge and halfway back, Rick seemed pretty nervous. Amy had her suspicions as to why.... !
They stopped to kiss and Rick just took the ring and slipped it on her finger. He said, "I want to marry you because I love you." Since he had already given her the ring, Amy thought it was understood that her answer was yes... duh... so, she said, "well, you haven't asked me a question." She wasn't trying to be smart about it, really... so at long last, he asked, and she said, of course, said yes.
About The Bride...
Name: Amy Ehrlich
Bride's Hometown: Culver City, CA
Amy grew up in Culver City (West LA) and went to college at UC Santa Cruz. She lived in the San Francisco Bay Area through most of her 20s. When she finished nursing school in Oakland in 2010, she felt like her time in the Bay Area had come to an end and she had always wanted to live in New York. She took the plunge and moved to NYC in October 2010, and she met Rick almost one year to the day of when she arrived.
About The Groom...
Name: Richard Dennis
Groom's Hometown: Garfield, NJ
Rick grew up in Garfield, New Jersey, along his twin brother David and siblings Betty and Scott. In 1997, he travelled across the country to California to continue his agriculture studies, with a dream of operating an organic farm. Since then, he's always missed the California sunshine, and while he hasn't started his own farm yet, he was able to bring back a small, but very special part of California back with him.
