Rachel and Baylan's Wedding

April 24, 2010

Payette Room

How we met...

We met during happy hour at Buffalo Wild Wings for both of our schools. We played competitive trivia against each other. The night ended and I went home not knowing what was in store for me in the future. The next week I was at a reading workshop when Baylan walked in. He was in a different room than I was, but managed to get my phone number from "cupid" and sent me text messages the entire workshop. The next day he asked me out and we had our first date at Bottom's Up Pizza. The rest is history.

The Engagement...

Date: Summer of 2008

During the summer of 2008, we went hiking at my favorite waterfall trails, Rickette's Glen. At every waterfall Baylan kept asking, "Is this the biggest one?" Finally when we got to the biggest one, he told me he had something to ask me. He looked in my eyes and asked me to hold his water. Real romantic, I know.

After I took his water, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him along with some other stuff I really don't remember. I, of course, said "thank you" first, and then, "yes". As we finished our hike I made sure to tell everyone we walked by that I was engaged!

As fate would have it, the particular waterfall that we stopped at was called a "wedding-cake waterfall".
