How We Met...

We met on move-in day sophomore year of college at URI. I offered to help Mere move some boxes from her car and we instantly hit it off. We became the closest of friends before dating in January 2005.

Mere graduated from the University of Rhode Island and studied abroad at Trinity College of Dublin in Ireland. She now works in NYC at the Brownstone Agency as an Assistant Underwriter. Mere enjoys practicing Yoga, Beading, Skiing, and spending time with friends and family.

Name: Michael Kevin Sherman
Hometown: Hillsborough, NJ

Michael also graduated from the University of Rhode Island and studied abroad at the University of Westminster in London England. He now works in Wilton CT at a marketing research company called TNS as a Forecasting Analyst. Michael enjoys working on cars, riding motorcycles, the outdoors, Skiing, and spending time with my fiancée, family, and friends.

The Engagement...
Date: August 16, 2008

We both found the perfect ring together at Woodbury Commons shopping. Since it had to get reset, Mike went back to pick it up a week later and came home to give me the first clue in a scavenger hunt he had set up around our apartment which contained clues and trivia about our relationship. Once the clues were all found, Mike instructed me to look at the clues more carefully. I was then able to spell out the words “Will you marry me?” with letters hidden in each clue. He then got down on one knee and showed me the ring and I accepted – Of course!

The Wedding...

Date: Saturday, December 5, 2009

The ceremony will be held at 5:00pm at the Shawnee Playhouse.

There will be a cocktail party at 6:00pm in the lobby of The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort.

The reception will be 7:00pm in the Worthington Ballroom at The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort.

Additional Information...

A block of rooms have been reserved for out of town guests at the Shawnee Inn. Please mention the Hettler-Sherman wedding when making reservations to enjoy a discounted rate.

The groom will be hosting a poker tournament (10 dollar buy-in cash game) Saturday during the day before the wedding. ~ 11:00 AM at The Gem and Keystone.

On the night of the wedding after the reception, everyone will be heading over to The Gem and Keystone for the after party, which is within stumbling distance to the Inn.

Finally, on Sunday, December 6, 2009, after all the excitement of the wedding settles down, the Sherman parents will be hosting a breakfast in the River Room at 9:00 AM for any of the overnight guests who stayed over at The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort.
