SHAWNEE MOUNTAIN PLANS EARLY OPENING
SKI & RIDE…WHITE FRIDAY
Shawnee on Delaware, PA – Thanks to early aggressive snowmaking and the recent cold snap, Shawnee Mountain plans to be open for skiing and snowboarding beginning the day after Thanksgiving “White Friday” through the Weekend. Operating hours will be 9am to 5pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Five open trails for skiing and snowboarding will include Hiawatha, Blue Mountain, Greenhouse Slope, Little Chief and top to bottom on the 5000’ Pennsylvania Trail. Three lifts will operate including a beginner friendly carpet conveyor lift and the Tomahawk Express Quad to the top. Ski and snowboard rentals, lessons and beginner’s packages will all be available all weekend. Early season lift ticket discounts coupons and Miser package deals are available at www.shawneemt.com.
Shawnee’s Pocono Plunge Snow Tubing Park may also open during Thanksgiving weekend pending snowmaking progress.
After the opening weekend Shawnee Mountain will be closed midweek (Monday through Friday) and plans to reopen on Saturday December 7 for the season. Snowmaking operations will continue on Shawnee Mountain nightly as temperatures permit. Updated Shawnee snow reports are available online at www.shawneemt.com or by calling 800-233-4218.
