Shawnee Market Provides Locally Sourced Options
Wednesday, May 29, 2013 (Shawnee on Delaware, Pennsylvania) – The Shawnee Market will open for the third season in a row on Tuesday, June 4th, 2013 from 5pm to 8pm. There is no cost to attend the Shawnee Market which corresponds with The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort’s Summer Community Concert Series.
The Shawnee Market focuses on providing the community an opportunity to purchase locally made and raised goods spanning from produce and pastries to soaps and jewelry. All of the items for sale at the Shawnee Market are hand-made by local suppliers. The market is part of The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort’s mission to bring awareness to the Pocono Mountain’s local offerings.
“Whenever possible, we endeavor to supply our guests and patrons with locally sourced products and ingredients”, said Rob Howell, General Manager of The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort. “The Shawnee Market allows us to showcase the region’s local farmers and goods smiths. We hope that the market is a spring board to including more Pocono-sourced produce and wares into their lives.”

Vendors may vary from week to week.
The Shawnee Market is actively seeking additional vendors. Any purveyors of hand-made goods local to the region are welcome to apply for an opportunity to take part in the Shawnee Market. Both the Shawnee Market and the Summer Community Concert Series are family-friendly and appropriate for people of all ages. The Shawnee Market takes place every Tuesday from 5pm – 8pm. The Summer Community Concert Series takes place every Tuesday from 7pm – 8pm. Both the Shawnee Market and Community Concert Series are scheduled to take place every Tuesday beginning on June 4th and concluding on September 3rd. The musicians of the Community Concerts donate their time to the audience in exchange for a “pass the hat” compensation.
