Shawnee Introduces New Chef Tallada
Article by Jeromy Wo, Public Relations---The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort is excited to announce the arrival of its new Executive Chef Rodney Tallada. Chef Tallada brings with him a taste of the Low Country to the Pocono Mountains. Born and raised locally, Chef Tallada traveled south to master his craft.
First serving as Executive Chef at Myrtle Beach’s two most famous clubs, The Dunes and later The Grand Dunes, Chef Tallada spent a decade on South Carolina’s coast identifying and perfecting cuisine preferred by upscale private country club membership. At the Grand Dunes, Chef Tallada served as Executive Chef managing four clubs including the Resort Club, The Members Club, PineLakes, and the Ocean Club.
With his career blossoming, Chef Tallada relocated to Virginia’s esteemed Olde Farm. The Olde Farm is a private golf club that boasts a membership that includes golf legends like Jack Nicklaus. Chef Tallada was able to pilot a sustainable Farm to Table program at The Olde Farm. He developed and implemented the use of an on-property 1.5 acre farm and orchard into the Olde Farm’s culinary offerings.
Slowly but surely, Chef Tallada’s desire to return home to the Pocono Mountains led him to The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort. For the past four years, Shawnee has developed its farm to table dining program. Shawnee taps its own maple trees, harvests honey from its apiary, brews its own beer and cultivates produce at the Great Shawna Island Farms.
Chef Tallada’s experience in upscale and private golf clubs along with his deep rooted interest in sustainable farm to table cuisine intertwine perfectly with The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort’s mission to exceed our guests expectations while preserving our environment.
We are all very happy to welcome Chef Tallada to the Shawnee Family. Please stay tuned on Facebook to see his new menu offerings and events.
