Shawnee Cares
Friday September 7, 2007 (Shawnee
on Delaware, Pennsylvania) – Six employees of The Shawnee
Inn and Golf Resort participated in The United Way of Monroe
County’s Day of Caring on Thursday, September 6, 2007.
The day concluded with a picnic for the volunteers, located
at and sponsored by The Shawnee Inn.
Day
of Caring is a one-day event that brings together the community
and provides people with the opportunity to make a difference
through “hands-on” volunteerism. It also exposes
them to the impact that United Way dollars have through programs
in the community. Volunteers from local businesses and organizations
spend a full or half day working at a local non-profit organization.
The six employees from Shawnee did volunteer
work at the Pocono Area Transitional Housing (PATH). PATH
is a charitable non-profit organization founded by Church
Women United, local business leaders and community members.
The purpose of PATH is to organize and operate housing for
the care and relief of families with children in housing crisis
in Monroe County.
The six Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort employees that participated
in the United Way of Monroe County’s Day of Caring are
Monica Startari, Director of Marketing, Jason Startari, Assistant
to Executive Offices, Jennifer Hall, Director of Human Resources,
Tara Brinker, Conference Services Manager, Midge McClosky,
Director of The Shawnee Playhouse, and Jeromy Wo, Coordinator
of Public Relations.
