Teeing Off for MDA
Shawnee Inn Employees Fundraise for
Muscular Dystrophy
Tuesday, August 21, 2007 (Shawnee on Delaware, Pennsylvania)
– Four employees of The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort
participated in a fundraiser in support of the Muscular Dystrophy
Association. The charity event was highlighted by a miniature
golf tournament held at The Paradise Golf Family Fun Park
on Monday, August 20, 2007.
Shawnee formed a team of four employees and
as a team they were able to raise $600 by the date of the
miniature golf tournament. This donation will send one child
that suffers from muscular dystrophy to a weeklong summer
camp that the Muscular Dystrophy Association sponsors.
The four Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort employees
that participated in the muscular dystrophy fundraiser were
Monica Startari, Director of Marketing, Jennifer Hall, Director
of Human Resources, Tara Brinker, Conference Services Manager,
and Eve Bergeron, Spa Shawnee Manager.
The event was a success with 44 golfers participating
and pledging over $13,000 for MDA.
Some of the other proceeds raised by the fundraiser
went directly to research, health care services, and education.
In addition to the impact of the fundraiser, all of the money
raised stayed locally to help children in Monroe County and
the surrounding areas.
