New Restaurants Embrace their
Natural Surroundings
Shawnee on Delaware, Pennsylvania – Keeping up with
its ongoing improvements and renovations, The Shawnee Inn
and Golf Resort has opened two new restaurants, both of which
are very much in tune with their natural surroundings. “River
Room” and “The Bistro” - open to both guests
of the resort and public alike - have already begun to provide
special dining experiences for their patrons.
Aptly named for its scenic views of the golf
course and lush surroundings, the River Room is located just
off the main lobby of the historic Shawnee Inn, in what used
to be “Charlie’s Place Restaurant”. The
new eatery is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and proudly
carries local organic produce (when in season) on all of its
menus. For breakfast, guests can enjoy made-to-order eggs
and omelets, homemade granola, fresh fruits and berries and
a smoothie of the day. The lunch menu includes salads, wraps
and delicious bison burgers, perfect for capping off a morning
round of golf. For dinner, the lights are dimmed and white
linens dress up the room for a relaxed, yet graceful way to
end the day. The dinner menu boasts local game entrees with
a variety of fresh fish and pasta options. A bar menu is available
after hours. The first breakfast seating is
6am and the last diner reservations are 10pm Sun-Thu and 11pm
Friday, Saturday and holidays.
The Bistro is Shawnee’s newest addition
and fully embraces its natural surroundings. Here, guests
can enjoy “al fresco” dining and a fresh menu
of sandwiches, wraps, Paninis, and salads. Located adjacent
to the golf shop at the newly constructed outdoor patio, The
Bistro also features fresh-squeezed lemonade, cold beer, fine
wine and an array of vacation-fun drinks. Live entertainment
adds to the ambiance and can be heard on Sundays, Wednesdays,
and Thursdays, from 6-8pm. The Bistro is open May through
September, Mother Nature permitting.
Dinner reservations are suggested for both restaurants.
