NBC COUPLE GETS
MARRIED AT SHAWNEE
Mr.
Tyler Mathisen and Ms. Joanne Lamarca tied the knot at The Shawnee Inn and Golf
Resort on Saturday, June 5, 2004. The couple came to Shawnee because Joanne had
visited Shawnee in the past (with NBC) and remembered falling in love with the
resort and the view of the river. The agenda was to have the ceremony on the
banks of the Delaware River, 100 yards from the Inn's main entrance.
Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans and it rained. The couple dealt
with the circumstances just fine, the ceremony was moved to the Inn's charming
veranda and the reception was in the Ballroom. Mandy Cunard, Director of
Catering, swears that, "after all, rain on the
wedding day is considered good luck, it ensures that crops will grow and
bountiful crops insure that the couple will eat and prosper."
Tyler Mathisen is one of the chief anchors for CNBC's "Closing Bell."Before
joining CNBC in 1997, Mathisen spent 15 years as a writer, senior editor and
top editor at "Money" magazine. Among his duties, he supervised the magazine's
mutual funds coverage; its annual investment forecast issue and its expansion
into electronic journalism, for which it won the first-ever National Magazine
Award for New Media in 1997. In 1993, Mathisen won the American University /
Investment Company Institute Award for Personal Finance Journalism for a
televised series on "Caring for Aging Parents," which aired on "Good Morning
America." Mathisen served as money editor of the series from 1991 to 1997. He
also won an Emmy Award for a report on the 1987 stock market crash that aired
on New York's WCBS-TV. "Closing Bell" represents a new approach to the
network's coverage of the close of the broad markets. Ms. Joanne Lamarca is
also a big name for NBC. Lamarca is one of the producers for the Today show.
Joanne is very proud to work for the Today Show, since it is celebrating its
50th year of transmission and seems poised to stay close to the heart of all
Americans for the next 50 years. Katie Couric and Matt Lauer are the co-anchors
while Al Roker and Ann Curry play the supporting roles of news anchors.
The wedding celebration turned out to be picture perfect. Lamarca looked
absolutely stunning and all 180 elite guests had a superb time. The guest list
included distinguished reporter Geraldo Rivera and also friends from InStyle
and Time magazines. The Shawnee Inn congratulates Mr. and Mrs. Mathisen and
wishes them the best of luck.
