The Shawnee Inn and Golf
Resort opened three new amenities that concentrate on health
and wellness. River Room, The Bistro, and Spa Shawnee were
all introduced last spring and play a crucial role in the
resort’s goal to providing guests with an unparalleled
experience.
A result of Shawnee’s
proximity to the Delaware River is that the resort has always
cornered the market in terms of outdoor activities. Naturally,
the next step for the Inn was to bridge the gap between outdoor
and indoor wellness. It is precisely for this purpose that
these new amenities were born.
Spa Shawnee and Salon offers
the active traveler a respite from all of the adventures the
surrounding area has to offer. Whether it is massage treatments
or hydrotherapy, the spa at Shawnee can ease guests after
a long day of activity. What the spa goers place into their
body is just as important as the miracles therapists perform.
Because of this, Spa Shawnee is in the process of creating
a spa food menu to work in unison with the fantastic massage
and hydrotherapy treatments already offered. In addition,
Spa Shawnee will be introducing yoga workshops into its retinue
of services this summer.
River Room is a fresh restaurant
located in the heart of the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort. The
restaurant’s name harkens back to the roots of this
great region. It is only fitting that the menu items reflect
this history. Many of River Room’s dishes are uniquely
native to this area. Guests can order anything from venison
steak to wild boar chops. Another distinctive quality about
River Room is that much of the food prepared is organic, free
range, or all natural, and when in season purchased from local
farmers. Fresh produce is another value that is highly stressed.
“At the River Room everything is a special order. Nothing
has ever been canned or frozen. All of our salads are completely
organic, and we strive to purchase all of our produce and
ingredients from our local region.” – Chef Navin
The Bistro is a seasonal
restaurant that offers guests an opportunity to dine al fresco.
Located on the edge of Shawnee’s legendary 27-hole golf
course, The Bistro presents some of the most picturesque views
in the area. Not to mention everything served at the restaurant
is prepared fresh daily. Even the peanut butter and honey
sandwich is organic. Most of the dishes are served with fresh
fruit as well.
The Shawnee Inn and Golf
Resort is proud of the direction it has taken to ensure guests
a healthy lifestyle even on vacation. For more information
