Inn gets “Save Our Planet Award”

The Shawnee Inn was fortunate to receive one of the five awards that were given on Tuesday, January 11th by the Pocono Mountains Chamber of Commerce. Each year the Environmental Committee of the Chamber presents what they refer to as the “Save Our Planet Award”. This award is given to five different types of efforts: Personal Achievement, Business, Government, Non-profit and Travel & Tourism. This year, the Inn was honored with the “Save Our Planet Award” for our efforts in the Travel & Tourism sector. Our notable efforts include our water conservancy environmental and Audubon programs. The main factor that led to our award, however was our state of the art Rain Bird irrigation system that saves and reuses water on our golf course in a most efficient manner.
