BALLOON
FESTIVAL IS FAST APPROACHING
The Shawnee Inn not only recovered quickly from the rains
of Hurricane Ivan but also quickly bounced back up to routine
operations. As of early this week, the resort has put the
final touches as they prepare for the 20th Annual Shawnee
Autumn Balloon Festival. The lower level of the Inn was hit
the hardest by the flood and a professional Flood Restoration
team is on board to take care of the damage left behind. This
has put NO damper on the preparations for the balloon festival,
though the lower level of the Inn will remain closed during
the event. The Festival Committee has made sure that they
will still accommodate the main purpose of that level during
the festival --- and that is --- additional bathrooms. They
have requested extra porta potties on the grounds of the festival
to compensate for the bathrooms that were traditionally available
on the lower level. The entertainment, crafters, and food
vendors have all been confirmed. The Pocono Record will have
a Festival Supplement on October 10th, so please be sure to
purchase a copy of Sunday's paper to catch all of the details
of the festival!
