Eager For Spring Golf Opening?

Article by Jeromy Wo, Public Relations—There are few traditions at The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort that are as long lived and symbolic as the building of its famous golf bridge. The arrival of Shawnee’s bridge represents the end of winter and the ushering in of new life, growth and a lot of lofts over the Delaware River onto Shawnee’s island Poconos golf course. Soon there will be pink flowers budding and the sound of bees buzzing to and fro hustling to restore their reserve that were tested by the Pocono Mountain’s uncommonly cold and long winter.

Shawnee’s golf season is just around the corner and will soon be in full swing. On March 31, Shawnee’s Golf and Grounds staff will begin the construction of Shawnee’s famed golf bridge.  We have built our bridge the exact same way for over a century (stay tuned for a time lapse video of the process on Facebook and Youtube).  Soon our bridge will stretch across the calm Delaware River allowing the course’s skilled grounds crew to manicure what winter has left behind. On April 4th, Shawnee’s course is scheduled to be open to the public and the 103rd season of golf will have finally arrived.

The arrival of spring has many of us itching to get out and enjoy the great outdoors. It’s time to dust off the clubs and brush off the rust of a delightfully short winter and prepare for a much welcomed golf season. Start thinking about joining a club. Shawnee’s new member rates are an incredible value.

Cheers to spring and may all of your drives be straight!  For tee times call: 570-213-5060.  For overnight Poconos golf packages click here.
