Historic Castle Inn

More Details

The Historic Castle Inn was in operation and boasted all the latest amenities from an ice-cream parlor to 1600 electric lights and running water. Celebrities and fighters alike all stayed in the hotel. Fred Waring bought the Inn in 1952 where his musical empire flourished. It is now fully restored and you will find that it now houses unique shops, eateries and services. Finish the day off with an ice-cream sundae from the ice-cream parlor.

Stroud Mansion Museum and Library

The Stroud Mansion was built in 1795 by the Stroud family. The mansion is open to the public and every room is open displaying different exhibits throughout the mansion with an exhibit that changes yearly based upon interests. The building is also home to the Elizabeth D. Walters Library, filled with historical and geological information about Stroudsburg.

Grey Towers Heritage Association

More Details

Grey Towers is a historical location in Milford Pa built by the Pinchot family as a summer retreat on 102 acres of land. The property was donated to the US Forestry Service in 1963 by the Pinchot family. The grounds offers events throughout the year and there are tours of the manicured grounds.

Shawnee Playhouse

More Details

The Shawnee Playhouse is a Historic site located minutes away from the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort by foot through Shawnee Village. It is an active theatre that regularly preforms shows for the general public in a historic hall, formerly called the Worthington Hall after C.C Worthington. This is the same building that Fred Waring used to broadcast his famous radio show throughout the 50's from the then Worthington Hall.
