Kittatinny Point

More Details

Kittatinny Point is a deep section of the New Jersey side of the Delaware River located within the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area where shad, bass, walleye, and catfish can be caught from the shoreline. There is a designated launching area for canoes and kayaks. A NJ or PA fishing license is required to fish in the Delaware River. A PA fishing license can be obtained easily online or at the nearby Shawnee General Store.

Turn left on to River Road and follow to the 2nd traffic light.
Make a left at the light and then stay right to enter the ramp for 80 East.
Take the first exit for Kittatinny Point Visitor Center.

Smithfield Beach

More Details

Smithfield Beach is located on River Road within the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, about three miles north of the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort and offers a grassy beach complete with picnic areas, restrooms, a boat launch, a canoe launch, and access to the Joseph M. McDade Recreational Trail. This is a deep section of the Delaware River where bass, musky, walleye, fallfish, and channel catfish can be caugh casting from shoreline or boat. There is a designated ramp for trailer off-loading boats and a designated canoe launching area.

Beach is lifeguarded during the summer
There are picnic areas and restrooms. Visitors planning to grill must bring their own grill
A PA or NJ Fishing License is required to fish in the Delaware River. You can obtain one easily online or at the nearby Shawnee General Store
Open dawn until dusk

Make a right on to River Road and follow three miles.
Take the right into Smithfield Beach and there you will be required to pay the entry fee to the park assistant or by using the fee envelopes and fee boxes if an assistant is not on duty.

Hidden Lake

More Details

Hidden Lake is "hidden" in plain sight on Hidden Lake Road, just a couple miles away from from the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort. Visitors may fish in the lake, with a Pennsylvania fishing license, or enjoy a lazy kayak float. This is a trout stocked lake located within the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. A trout stamp is also required.

Valid PA Fishing License and Trout Stamp are required.

Directions from The Shawnee Inn

Make a right on to River Road.
Take the first left on to Hollow Road.
Follow for about three miles and make the right onto Hidden Lake Road which is directly after Shawnee Mountain Ski Area.
Follow for 1.3 miles and you will see the entrance sign for Hidden Lake.

Paradise Fishing Preserve

More Details

Paradise Trout Preserve, established in 1902, is Pennsylvania’s first licensed trout hatchery. A park setting, with 2 ponds that are stocked with healthy, farm-raised trout and bass, provides a great deal of fishing fun! Our larger pond is stocked with trout (rainbow, brown, brook, golden, and tiger) and our smaller pond is stocked with largemouth bass. You will not need a fishing license. Pole rentals, bait, tackle, ice, and snacks are available at our store. Fish gutting and filleting is offered on the premises. Self-guided hatchery tours are also a fun and educational activity for all ages. At Paradise, you can see the life-cycle of hatchery fish from the farm to the dinner table.

There are park benches, picnic tables, and a pavilion on premises, but no barbecuing is allowed.
Handicapped accessible.

8am-5pm Saturday and Sunday

Entrance Fee: $3 adults, $2.50 seniors, free for children 12 & under; Trout is $7.25 per pound and Bass is $9.90 per pound

Turn left onto River Rd
Turn right at the first light onto Buttermilk Falls Road
Turn left at the light onto US-209 S
Follow 1.1 miles to the next traffic light and turn right onto PA-447 N
Follow 6.7 miles on 447 N and continue onto PA-191 N
Follow for 4.6 miles and turn left into Paradise Fishing Preserve
