Chris and I were set
up on a “blind” date.
Throughout college, I worked at a
local sporting goods store. My boss
happened to be a neighbor of the
Elphick’s. She constantly tried
to fix us up, thinking that we would
make a great pair. Against my will,
she eventually made it happen. For
my 21st birthday, she offered to
take me out for dinner and drinks.
Little did I know, she also invited
Chris. I never laughed as much as
I did that night. We had a great
time, and have been laughing together
ever since.
The
Engagement... Date:
August 31, 2007
Chris
and I had planned a vacation
to the Dominican Republic
in September of 2006. I was
sure that Chris was going
to propose over vacation,
because we had been talking
about our future together.
Two nights before we left,
I stopped at the nail salon
for a manicure. Chris met
me for dinner afterwards,
and we decided to call it
an early night. When we returned
to my house, I was frantically
running around trying to
pack. Chris asked me to sit
next to him and relax for
a second. We were cuddling
on the couch, and I made the
joke that I finally got my
nails done, and I was hoping
that I could show off a shiny
ring when we returned from
vacation (for those of you
that know me – I
have a bad habit of always
biting my nails, so a manicure
was a big deal). I no sooner
finished my sentence when
Chris pulled out a ring box
from his pocket and said “You
mean a shiny ring, like
this?” The
ring was gorgeous, and I
was completely surprised.
