Many golf legends have played at Shawnee:
Walter Hagan, Paul Runyon, Arnold Palmer,
Sam Snead, Hale Irwin and others. Shawnee
was the host to the 1938 PGA Championships
and the 1967 NCAA championships. Famous entertainer,
Jackie Gleason played golf here for many
years. In his very first round he shot a

an amazing 75.
The Present: Shawnee has embraced the game
of golf with the addition of their own

Located in a restored red brick building
from 1752, the academy has a state-of-the-art
practice facility, first class instructors
and a new 9-hole approach course.
