Jacquelyn & Michael's
Wedding |
How We Met...
We met through mutual
friends (Brian & Natalie Harris)
and if it wasn't for them,
we would have probably never met.
We both had just gotten out of relationships
and jokingly Michael asked Brian
and Natalie if they had any friends
to hook him up with, and it just
so happened that they did…..Jacquelyn.
Natalie called Jackie and asked her
if she would like to go out and explained
who Michael was. The funny thing
was both Michael and Jackie were
a bit hesitant about the whole idea
because they had just gotten out
of relationships. However, Michael
drove Brian and Natalie to Jackie’s
house and picked her up. As soon
as Michael laid eyes on Jackie coming
down the steps of her Squirrel Hill
Apt. He fell in love! Her long blond
beautiful hair, amazing smile and
emerald green eyes completely swept
him off his feet. Jacquelyn carefully
examined Michael from the backseat
of his Jeep and laughed at his silly
jokes. Also, Jackie had to admit
she was checking out Mikes Butt the
whole night. Once we started talking
that night we never stopped. It was
unbelievable how well we “clicked” and
we both new that we were meant for
each other. It was an unforgettable
night. A night that changed both
of our lives!
The
Engagement...
Date: November 18th,
2005
Michael
had it all planned out perfectly!
He secretly ordered the ring and had
it shipped to his mother’s house
in Pittsburgh, where he nonchalantly
picked it up while going out to a
Steelers game with his friend Michael
Innamorato (Best Man – “Rato”).
Prior to picking up the ring Michael
also managed to secretly sit down
with Mr. & Mrs. Belcher to discuss
his plans for engagement and ask for
their blessing. Upon approval from
Mr. & Mrs. Belcher, Michael made
reservations at the Crescent Lodge
in the Pocono’s for the weekend
of the 18th. Michael’s reason
for making the reservations was to
celebrate their one year anniversary
which was on the 20th. A perfect front
for a perfect engagement. Michael
wanted to do something different while
asking for Jacquelyn’s hand
in marriage. So, he put his thinking
cap on and came up with a wonderful
idea. Michael put together a scrapbook
which had all kinds of pictures, stickers
and sweet things about our relationship.
We arrived at the lodge which was
very beautiful and romantic. Jacquelyn
decided to take a shower and Michael
got to work making the setting of
the room romantic. He lowered the
lights and lit candles. He put a bottle
of champagne on ice and arranged two
chairs near the hot tub which was
also next to the fireplace. He hid
the ring under the seat of one of
the chairs and hid the scrap book
on the side of the chair. Once Jackie
finished her shower Michael explained
he had an anniversary gift and seated
Jacquelyn in one of the chairs. He
then gave her the scrapbook and explained
that it was her gift. Jackie thought
it was so sweet and began reading
through the book with Michael seated
next to her reading along. The scrapbook
started out with how we met and slowly
built up towards our current situation
and as Jackie neared the end she started
to get nervous and excited because
the scrapbook hinted around our “future” and “marriage” and
before she knew it she was reading
the last page and it ended with a
small phrase “I remember the
look on your face when I asked you
to be my wife….” with
that, Michael was already getting
down on one knee and proposing. We
then had an extremely romantic dinner
seated next to a live piano player
who played romantic songs the entire
night. We spent the entire weekend
celebrating our new engagement as
well as our one year anniversary and
had an unforgettable time!
