How We Met...
Rick
and I met online at Match.com.
After numerous emails, a phone
call helped set up a first date.
I had told Rick my birthday was
coming up, so he told me he would
like to take me out for that. I
found out later that my birthday
was the same night as the Eagles
opening game on Monday Night Football.
Since he is a die-hard Eagles fan,
it was great that he was willing
to give up watching that to take
me out. I told him we should go
somewhere on our date where he
could also watch the game. We went
to a local tavern and had a nice
evening while watching the Eagles
game. Near the end of the night,
Rick had a birthday cake brought
out for me and the entire bar sang
Happy Birthday to me.
The Engagement
Date: February 11th,
2006
Rick knows
I love the snow, so even though he
had picked out my ring in November,
he waited for the first big snow storm
to propose. About 11:00 at night,
because it was so peaceful and beautiful
outside since a good amount of snow
had fallen, he suggested that we take
a walk out by our pond (in the picture
on our website). I was looking the
other way for awhile when I heard
him say, "Honey". I turned around to
find him down on one knee on our little
pier with the ring box open and a flashlight
shining on the ring. He said, "Will
you marry me"? It was very romantic
and I was very surprised!
